Hrei Insight Awards Finalist Richard Rendina Cleveland Clinic

Rendina Healthcare Real Estate and Cleveland Clinic selected as Finalists for HREI Insights Awards

JUPITER, Fla.

Rendina Healthcare Real Estate has been named a Finalist in two categories for this year’s HREI Insights Awards™. The awards are presented by HREI, the nation’s first and only print and digital magazine entirely devoted to covering healthcare real estate (HRE) development, financing and investment. Held annually, the HREI Awards recognize facilities and individuals that represent high achievement in healthcare real estate development.

This marks the 11th time Rendina has been nominated for the HREI Insights Awards™. Previously, Rendina has been the winner of three awards, including HREI’s Lifetime Achievement Award for founder Bruce A. Rendina’s contributions to the HRE industry.

Nominated with Cleveland Clinic for Best New Medical Facility in the 50,000 – 99,000 square feet category, the Coral Springs Family Health Center is a $32 million, 73,122-square-foot Ambulatory Surgery Center fully occupied by Cleveland Clinic Florida.

Steve Barry

President

We’re proud to be a Finalist for an HREI Insights Award because we believe it recognizes the creativity of the project team and the collaboration between Cleveland Clinic and Rendina. The new Family Health Center is a state-of-the-art facility that is very responsive to the needs of the community.

The Coral Springs Family Health Center officially opened its doors to the public in July of this year and has already served more than 14,000 patients. The new facility provides critical health care services to the Coral Springs community and includes 40 exam rooms, six operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, 24 prep and recovery bays – in addition to a staff that includes 15 full-time physicians, 20 rotating physicians, and 95 administrative and clinical personnel.

In addition to its joint nomination with Cleveland Clinic, Richard M. Rendina was selected as a Finalist for the HREI Insights Awards™ in the category of 2018 Healthcare Executive of the Year. Richard’s achievements this year included orchestrating the sale of a 10-building, 490,000 square foot portfolio that closed in August, the largest transaction of his career. Richard also oversaw the formation of the firm’s joint venture with Cleveland Clinic, a partnership that resulted in the development of the aforementioned Coral Springs Family Health Center.

Richard M. Rendina

Chariman and CEO of Rendina

I’m honored to be considered for this award by such a well-respected industry publication. I’m especially proud of the work our team has done this year and this nomination is a reflection of that work.

As Chairman & CEO, Mr. Rendina has been instrumental in cultivating HRE strategy, including outpatient initiatives that utilized HRE to spur downtown revitalizations. Recent projects in Bristol, Conn., and Bayonne, N.J., are compelling case studies in how HRE can stimulate significant growth in communities.

Mr. Rendina is also a regular speaker at industry events and real estate round tables, and is actively involved in philanthropic endeavors such as chairing the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Palm Beach Annual Gala with his wife Trish, raising over $3 million. He established the Bruce Rendina Scholarship at Cardinal Newman High School to provide tuition to student athletes in need, and established two endowments at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, one for student scholarships and another to support the Catholic Church “Right to Life” Initiative.

The Finalists and Winners will be featured in the December 2018 and January 2019 editions of the HREI magazine, the 2019-20 HREI Resource Guide annual directory, and on the HREInsights.com website. In addition, the awards will be presented to the Winners at a public luncheon ceremony Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at the RealShare HRE Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.
