Barnabas Health, the City of Bayonne and Rendina Healthcare Real Estate celebrated on Sept. 24th when the design was unveiled for a new 80,000 square foot freestanding emergency department (ED).
Officially named Barnabas Health at Bayonne, the new facility will revitalize the historic Broadway shopping district while bringing jobs and convenient healthcare services to the community. The new medical office building will house a 24/7 emergency department, imaging center, retail pharmacy, pediatric center, physical therapy, women’s center and services for primary care.
The facility is being developed by Rendina Healthcare Real Estate and will be located on the West 2300 Block between Broadway and Delmonte. The plan also calls for the construction of a new four-story parking garage that will add an additional 309 spaces and connect to the second floor of the medical office building.
The event was attended by more than 100 guests, including Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis who spoke highly of the project and the impact it will have on the surrounding community.
Also speaking at the event were Richard Rendina, Chairman and CEO of Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, and Steve Barry, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Leasing.
Rendina expects the project to bring hundreds of construction jobs to Bayonne, and Barnabas Health anticipates 120 permanent jobs upon completion of the facility.
Barnabas Health at Bayonne is expected to open in late 2016.
