Zelica Quigley

Deputy General Counsel

Zelica Quigley supports legal oversight of the company’s real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and related corporate matters, working closely with senior leadership and outside counsel.

She brings more than 25 years of legal experience representing clients in all aspects of the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of real estate related to single-family and multifamily residential communities and mixed-use development projects. Zelica was previously a partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP (successor to Broad and Cassel LLP) where she worked for more than 18 years representing developers in all facets of the real estate development process, including platting of subdivisions and preparing, negotiating, and reviewing easements and development agreements, and resolving complex title and survey matters. She also served as Assistant General Counsel for the Falcone Group.

Zelica is a member of the Florida Bar and attended Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where she graduated with honors and was an Associate Editor for the Nova Law Review. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Christy Evans

General Counsel

Christy Evans is General Counsel. As General Counsel, Christy leads the legal department in the documentation of all of Rendina’s acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, ground leasing, management and operational activities. Prior to her appointment as General Counsel, Christy served as Rendina’s Associate Legal Counsel, then Deputy General Counsel, for over 10 years. Prior to coming to Rendina, Christy represented clients in several aspects of transactional law, including work in public finance, commercial real estate acquisitions and financing, commercial leasing, corporate and securities, regulatory and governmental practice areas. She has also served as General Counsel to the Housing Finance Authority of Palm Beach County, Florida. Christy has worked with many local developers and residential construction companies on the financing of infrastructure for residential developments as well as representing various developers in the area of professional and regulatory licensing with regard to acquiring liquor, hotel and restaurant licenses; occupational licenses; and contractor’s licenses.

Christy, a member of the Order of the Coif, the Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association, attended the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, where she graduated with high honors, served as Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Florida Law Review, and earned an award for scholarly legal writing for a piece published in the Florida Law Review. She has also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Christy worked as a probation officer in Palm Beach County, Florida, where she earned the title “Officer of the Year,” and held various positions in the counseling and social services professions.

Jeanne M. Battles

Senior Paralegal

Jeanne Battles is Senior Paralegal. Jeanne is a Real Estate Specialist and Florida Registered Paralegal with over 25 years of experience in real estate law. Prior to joining Rendina, she worked as a real estate paralegal at the firm of Shutts & Bowen for 12 years and at the firm of Wien, Malkin & Bettex for 7 years, conducting commercial and residential real estate closings and preparing commercial leases. Jeanne graduated from the Paralegal Institute at Florida Atlantic University. She was the first President of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Paralegal Association of Florida and has served in many capacities on both the local and state level. Jeanne is also very involved in the community, leading a women’s growth group through her church and being a licensed foster parent, which resulted in adopting two children.

Jennifer Carpenter

Paralegal

Jennifer Carpenter is a Paralegal with over 10 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining Rendina she worked as a Paralegal for Waller Lansden Dortch and Davis, LLP since 2012, and remained with the company after they were bought by Holland & Knight in March, 2023. Her experience includes supporting acquisitions, sales, and leasing activities associated with large, complex commercial transactions across the United States. In recent years, Jennifer has worked primarily with medical office clients such as Healthcare Realty Trust, HCA Healthcare, and Lifepoint Health. Jennifer has an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Volunteer State Community College.

Francie Shonkwiler

Legal Administrative Assistant

Francie Shonkwiler is our Legal Administrative Assistant and her primary responsibility is to provide support to the Legal Department. Francie has over 9 years of diverse administrative/legal support experience. Her previous experience includes working as a Victim Services Coordinator at the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office in North Carolina. She also held the position of Senior Administrative Assistant at the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office, and most recently she was a Legal Assistant at the Jupiter Law Center. Francie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Otterbein University and is a Certified Paralegal.
