Bruce A. Rendina

Lifetime Achievement Award

Throughout the past two decades, Bruce A. Rendina, as Chairman, CEO and President of Rendina, helped shape the national landscape of healthcare real estate by partnering with hospitals and physicians to develop medical facilities. He structured, developed and negotiated more than five million square feet of transactions in 30 states, valued in excess of $4 billion.

Rendina developed a concept that solved the needs of the medical community, and translated this idea into a career that helped change the way real estate is developed in the healthcare industry. Rendina founded the unique Equity Participation Program more than 20 years ago, that allowed hospitals to develop medical office buildings on their campus without having to put up any capital or take on any of the risks associated with the development or the mortgage debt. He also founded Paramount Real Estate Services, a property management company responsible for managing more than five million square feet of medical office space nationwide. Rendina was also responsible for two large-scale development projects in Palm Beach County, Florida; the Waterfront Clematis buildings in downtown West Palm Beach, which contributed to the revitalization of the downtown corridor; and the Abacoa Planned Community Development in Jupiter, a 2,055-acre, master planned mixed use community.

Rendina Announces the Completion of Southside Regional Medical Arts Pavilion

Rendina has completed the new Southside Regional Medical Arts Pavilion, a two-story 32,500 square-foot medical office building in Petersburg, VA. Located on the campus of Southside Regional Medical Center (SRMC), the new medical facility is home to a state-of-the-art Cancer Center, a fully digital Women’s Imaging Center, as well as general medical and obstetrical office space for physicians. Rendina was responsible for all development activities, including construction management, leasing, and tenant improvement coordination.

SRMC moved from 801 S. Adams St. to its current location at 200 Medical Park Boulevard in 2008. At that time, the Cancer Center remained in the relatively new wing of the old hospital. While the Cancer Center had been fully operational at its original location on Adams Street, the Southside Regional Medical Arts Pavilion offers the Cancer Center an advanced setting and convenient location on the SRMC’s main campus. Services will include radiation therapy, medical oncology clinics, infusion services, a women’s center, a community resource library and support services. This new center will also house an oncology navigator and psychosocial programs. This advanced technology coupled with the highest levels of compassion and expertise will bring unrivaled patient care to more than 200,000 local residents for years to come.
