Campbell Clinic and Rendina Celebrate Construction Start of 120,000 SF MOB in Germantown, Tenn.

Germantown, Tennessee

Staff members of Campbell Clinic, city officials, and representatives from Rendina Healthcare Real Estate gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Campbell Clinic’s new 120,000-square-foot medical facility on Thursday, May 24.

The ceremony was held at the future location of the four-story complex on Wolf River Boulevard., adjacent to Campbell Clinic’s existing orthopaedics building. The new facility will assist Campbell Clinic in implementing an ambitious growth strategy over the coming months and years, and alleviate pressure on their existing Germantown surgery center that is currently operating at capacity.

The new facility will include an ambulatory surgery center with eight operating rooms, an outpatient orthopedic clinical space, and an expanded physical therapy and sports performance area. In addition to the new facility, Campbell Clinic will renovate its existing 60,000 square foot building adjacent to the new facility – creating a fully modernized campus providing full-service orthopedic care with enough capacity for years to come.

The new space will help the Clinic’s implement their plan to hire more than 50 new physicians, five physician assistants and two nurse practitioners – resulting in decreased wait times for patients and more accessible care for the community.

Rendina provided their full-services development capabilities by managing all aspects of the design and approval process and will also oversee construction of the new facility.

Bristol Hospital and Rendina Start Construction on Downtown Ambulatory Care Center

Bristol, Conn.

The hard work invested throughout nearly two years of planning, permitting, design and financing will soon be realized for Bristol Hospital. Earlier this month, the hospital broke ground on The Bristol Hospital Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), a 62,000 square foot healthcare facility that promises to help expand healthcare services for the Bristol community. Bristol Hospital selected Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, a leading national developer, owner and manager of healthcare facilities, as its partner on the project.

Located at the intersection of Main Street and Riverside Avenue in downtown Bristol, the ACC will be occupied by Bristol Hospital’s Multi-Specialty Group, providing the community with a range of crucial services, including cardiology, endocrinology and diabetes, neurology, orthopedics, rheumatology and urology. In addition to providing affordable and accessible healthcare to the community, the project marks an important step in the revitalization of downtown Bristol, and will give forth to future development as the ACC attracts residents and generates renewed interest in selecting the area as the site for new retail and residential projects.

Working with Bristol Hospital and the City of Bristol to fully understand its vision, Rendina collaborated on a design that blends medical and retail architectural elements, represented by the glass and brick façade and use of natural light throughout – creating an inviting atmosphere that will include a café in the two-story atrium.

The ACC is expected to open in late 2019. Once complete, Rendina Healthcare Real Estate will own and manage the new facility.

Hospitals Muscle Up on ‘Medical Fitness’

In 2013, after enduring months of rehabilitation to recover from a car accident caused by a drunk driver, Vicki Lynn Younkin, then 53, decided to get physically fit for the first time. “It was something I had always wanted to do, but I guess it took a near-death experience to make it happen,” says the resident of Coventry Township, just south of Akron, Ohio.

The fitness center she chose was near her home and was familiar — it was the same place where she received her rehab care. A physical therapist introduced Younkin to an exercise physiologist to get her started on a workout plan.

“When I first got on the treadmill, I was so weak I couldn’t walk a mile,” she says. “The exercise guys are always right there with me, and the other day I rode a bike machine more than 15 miles. I also love to swim, and I have lost about 17 pounds in a year. I wanted to get healthy for myself, my husband and kids, but I really want to be around for my grandkids.”

The center, one of three run by Akron General Health System, is called Health & Wellness Center–Green. Far from a traditional health club, the sprawling 98,000-square-foot facility brings together outpatient services, a stand-alone emergency department, radiology, sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics and cardiac rehab, and aqua therapy. Former rehab patients pay to become members of LifeStyles, a fitness program. Next door, a 40,000-square-foot medical office building houses Akron General physicians.

The center, built through a partnership with national developer Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, has hundreds of pieces of cardiovascular and weight-lifting equipment, an indoor lap pool and warm water pool, a gymnasium, indoor and outdoor running tracks, a youth fitness area, exercise studios and an indoor rock climbing wall. Board-certified sports medicine doctors, licensed physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, exercise physiologists and strength and conditioning specialists work with thousands of patients and LifeStyles members.
